    Official report of the Olympic Games was originally intended to capture and document the extraordinary celebration of the Olympic Games in each unique host city. As the Games grew in size and importance, the official report became a publication that not only captured and documented the important historical events of an Olympic Games, but also became a key tool for future OCOGs to reference in the planning stages of the organization of future Games.the context of a developed OGKM program, the official report of the Games is now fuller and more complete, with a multiple set of deliverables which cover the following areas:
    • a detailed view of the bidding process
    • a commemorative book highlighting the color and excitement of the celebration of the Games
    • information on the planning and operational aspects of the Games
    • an overview of the global impact of the Games on the Host City, country and the world
    • a short film which summarizes the story of the Games.

    IOC has appointed an official photographic agency since the Olympic Winter Games of 1988 in Calgary. The main purpose of this arrangement has been to meet the operational photographic needs of the IOC and the Olympic marketing partners, while at the same time eliminating the need for the partners to bring their own photographers to the Games. The official photo agency maintains an archive of its Olympic images, as well as certain IOC-owned images, which are available online at a commercial fee to media organizations for editorial purposes and IOC marketing partners. The official photo agency also grants the IOC and the OCOGs a non-exclusive license to use, free of charge, all of its wholly owned editorial photographs of the Games as well as its wholly owned editorial sport photographs from events, other than the Games for certain editorial, educational and promotional purposes, as defined in the IOC - agency contract.

It is customary for the Mayor of the next host city to fly back home with the official flag. Upon arrival, there is a large public and press ceremony to welcome the Olympic flag to the next host city (four years before their Games). According to protocol and tradition, the official flag is to be displayed in Mayor’s office for the following four years. The real official flag is placed in a safety deposit box, while a replica is put on public display.

    МОК принадлежат все права на вещание и распространение, касающиеся Олимпийских игр. МОК может предоставить какой-либо вещательной организации эксклюзивное право на передачу по телевидению Олимпийских игр на своей территории. В оговариваемые суммы входит стоимость технических средств, инфраструктуры и других услуг, которые должны быть предоставлены ОКОИ за его собственный счет, если иное не будет конкретно оговорено с МОК. Те же положения действуют и в отношении прав на радиовещание. ОКОИ не должен заключать никакие контракты, которые бы были прямо или опосредованно связаны с продажей прав на вещание (включая контракты, связанные с измерением времени, предоставлением данных, официальным Олимпийским фильмом и т. д.). МПК принадлежат все права на вещание и распространение, касающиеся Паралимпийских игр.     broadcast and distribution rights
    IOC owns all broadcast and distribution rights with regards to the Olympic Games. The IOC may grant a broadcasting organization the exclusive right to broadcast by television the Olympic Games in its territory. The sums negotiated include the technical facilities, infrastructure and other services that will be provided by the OCOG at its sole expense, unless otherwise specifically agreed by the IOC. Similar provisions are also valid for radio broadcasting rights. The OCOG must not enter into any contracts directly or indirectly linked with the sale of broadcasting rights (including contracts related to time-keeping, data, the official Olympic film, etc.).IPC owns all rights relating to the broadcasting and distribution of the Paralympic Games. In undertaking the hosting of the Paralympic Games, the IPC transfers all Paralympic Games-related television/broadcast rights, to the OCOG in exchange for a fee as set forth in the IPC/IOC Agreement.
